Flirty Flare

Once in awhile I find myself searching for something different. So while shopping I pick up a dress or a top that I would normally never bother to look at. I call these my shopping experiments. Find something that doesn't grab my attention, is not my usual style, try it on and see what it looks like. Most times these experiments fail but on rare occasions I discover a new trend or cut that I would never have discovered in my normal expeditions. The dress I am showcasing today is one such example. I was so bored that I just picked it up because it looked pretty bizarre. The dress has a strong chevron print running across the bodice and skirt and interspersed between the black chevron lines are traditional flower motifs in florescent green and purple. As if the strange combination of colors is not enough, it also has a netted underskirt to give the dress the required puff. Since I absolutely hate puff, I berated myself for descending into juvenile territory. But once I saw it on myself I had to gasp in sheer wonder. The dress was nothing short of spectacular. The lady in the dressing room next to me also remarked on how lovely it was and I was in seventh heaven for having found something so unusual.

So my advice to all you lovely ladies - never stop experimenting with your wardrobe. You might just stumble onto something amazing, just like I did. And PS: That advice goes for life as well :P

Black Gold

When I started blogging last year I had made a mental note to myself never to post any all black outfits. I was very adamant about my style preferences and tastes. I even named my blog as vividly in vogue to make a point; the point being women can look beautiful in bright bold colors and prints. It is not necessary to resort to black to look good.

As the year progressed I started relaxing my views a little. I realized that I had got stuck in a style rut. So recently I have been experimenting with muted colors, black and white monochromatic looks. And the difference to my wardrobe has been a quite drastic and most welcome :)

Today, I am showcasing a black jumpsuit I found at Papaya. It has such sleek lines and is made of stretchy material that makes it so comfortable. The gold belt adds a strong statement so I have kept the jewellery minimal. A white and gold clutch completes this sophisticated look. Do you agree ? Do let me know ?
