Blue Love

Lake Tahoe is a hot weekend getaway for us NorCal folks. It's a beautiful lake high up in the mountains with a nice ski resort, posh restaurants and not to forget - casino's (since it is right on the border of Nevada). In the summer time we drive up there for all the water activities like jet skiing, kayaking, para sailing and in the winter time it skiing, snow boarding and skating on the mountains.
A few weeks back a friend of mine invited me up to this pretty cabin in Lake Tahoe for the long weekend. There was no snow but the weather was cold and we enjoyed watching movies by the big fireplace enjoying the peace and tranquility of the woods around us. It was a very peaceful getaway. We gorged on some really delicious food and took long walks and that's when I had the idea of creating a post with the backdrop of the woods. You will see me standing next to or sitting on pine tree stumps enjoying my relaxed vaca. A loose sweater, scarf and boots completed my lazy weekend look. I did carry all my winter must haves in a bright mustard bucket bag.
A quick tip for those of you looking for easy makeup options. For day time always use a light eye shadow matching the color of your top. Then add a light coat of mascara and a pretty pink lip. Voila! you are ready to go. Also if you have been following my past few posts, you might have noticed that I have re-used many items over and over again. Looking sexy and fashionable does not mean that you have splurge on a lot of clothes and accessories. Collect a few staples and mix and match them to create different looks.

Winter Essentials

Today I am showcasing a very simple winter look that is so easy to replicate. This is always my go-to look in those cold winter months when I have to rush to work without having to think about my wardrobe. As I have said many many times before, I just love color and what better way to cheer up a cold dreary winter day, than with some bright beautiful colors ?

I am sure everyone owns at-least one cable sweater. Well if you don't, any normal sweater will do. Pair it with a bright scarf; the brighter the better. If you are looking for budget friendly items, I recommend getting a scarf that has all the four main colors - blue, red, yellow and green. You can then use the scarf with almost any color sweater. Pick your most comfy jeans and your fav boots and you are ready to go. So simple and stylish. What say?
