Fuchsia Fun

San Francisco is one of those places where you never know which season is going on. It is always windy and cold. However, there are those few days in summer when it gets warm enough to step out in a sundress or shorts. Last Saturday was one of those rare magical days. I was saving this dress for my beach side vacation but who was I kidding? I have absolutely no patience; I need to wear my new clothes the day I buy them.

So I went to see the Japanese Tea Garden in this lovely fuchsia number. A dress like this provides a wonderful background to experiment with. Since it is just one bright bold color, you can go crazy with your colorful accessories. I paired it with a multi color ring, an aquamarine pendant and bright gold nail polish. A flower printed cross-body bag and open toe heels completed the look. I felt bright and colorful as you can see from my smile. I love summer, who doesn't ? :)

White Sophisticate

Knee length bodycon dresses have been in vogue for the past couple of years. But I have always shied away from them. I really didn't want my already size-able tush to be prominently displayed in such a figure hugging number. Yes, I'll admit it, I can be a fashion prude sometimes. So while shopping with a dear friend I decided to walk right by this dress and not try it on. But my friend insisted and I succumbed to friendly bullying. I tried in on and thought that it looked ok. I wasn't a big fan but a sweet little teenage girl sharing the dressing room said that I looked amazing. I'm a sucker for kids, even big kids, so yes, I got it and I'm beginning to think it was a good decision. Do you agree ?

Flirty Flare

Once in awhile I find myself searching for something different. So while shopping I pick up a dress or a top that I would normally never bother to look at. I call these my shopping experiments. Find something that doesn't grab my attention, is not my usual style, try it on and see what it looks like. Most times these experiments fail but on rare occasions I discover a new trend or cut that I would never have discovered in my normal expeditions. The dress I am showcasing today is one such example. I was so bored that I just picked it up because it looked pretty bizarre. The dress has a strong chevron print running across the bodice and skirt and interspersed between the black chevron lines are traditional flower motifs in florescent green and purple. As if the strange combination of colors is not enough, it also has a netted underskirt to give the dress the required puff. Since I absolutely hate puff, I berated myself for descending into juvenile territory. But once I saw it on myself I had to gasp in sheer wonder. The dress was nothing short of spectacular. The lady in the dressing room next to me also remarked on how lovely it was and I was in seventh heaven for having found something so unusual.

So my advice to all you lovely ladies - never stop experimenting with your wardrobe. You might just stumble onto something amazing, just like I did. And PS: That advice goes for life as well :P

Black Gold

When I started blogging last year I had made a mental note to myself never to post any all black outfits. I was very adamant about my style preferences and tastes. I even named my blog as vividly in vogue to make a point; the point being women can look beautiful in bright bold colors and prints. It is not necessary to resort to black to look good.

As the year progressed I started relaxing my views a little. I realized that I had got stuck in a style rut. So recently I have been experimenting with muted colors, black and white monochromatic looks. And the difference to my wardrobe has been a quite drastic and most welcome :)

Today, I am showcasing a black jumpsuit I found at Papaya. It has such sleek lines and is made of stretchy material that makes it so comfortable. The gold belt adds a strong statement so I have kept the jewellery minimal. A white and gold clutch completes this sophisticated look. Do you agree ? Do let me know ?

Bringing sexy back

I'm bringing sexy back! You heard me right. Thats how I feel every time I wear this incredibly sexy dress. You don't need to show a lot of skin and wear short skimpy clothes to look sexy and this dress is the perfect example. It covers me from head to toe but is so feminine that it is impossible not to look hot in it. The skirt is completely sheer with a slit in the middle that gives a glimpse of your sexy gams, enough to whet the appetite on an any red blooded male. Turnaround and the back has a cutout strategically placed to show the curve of your lower back. How much more sexy can it get ? Well much much more.. don't forget the plunging V-neck in the front.

Even though it has a floral pattern it is perfect for a date night. The black lace around the neckline gives this outfit a gothic edge but hey! who said that goth cannot be sexy ? I kept the accessories minimal - rhinestone earrings and ring. This dress does not really need accessories. Do checkout the sparkly nude nail polish that I have on. It's a new shade from sinful colors only available in stores. I picked mine from Target.

I know I have waxed poetic on the sexiness of this dress. If you don't believe me try it out. If every guy in the room does not turn to stare at you I will eat my hat :P metamorphically ofcourse :)

Sometimes high sometimes low

This month has been all about incredible highs and lows. So it seems kind of ironic that I'm also showcasing a high low look today. As promised, this is my second post on the spring flower theme. This beautiful dress from the Disney Cinderella collection is so dreamy and flows beautifully when I walk. Unfortunately I could not capture any pictures where I'm walking since it was so cold outside last weekend and I was freezing through this shoot.

The dress has blue-green flowers and so I kept to the blue-green color scheme for my accessories as well. Besides, blue-green has suddenly become one of my favorite colors. Can you guess why ? I am floating around in happy happy land and if there ever was an outfit perfect for floating, it would be this pretty high low dress. Don't forget the purple snakeskin clutch. It does add some oomph to this look. Keep watching this space for the final outfit in my floral spring series.

Mint Madness

I did promise you that I would be doing a series of posts on floral outfits and this one is special because I'm actually wearing pants. LOL! I just could not resist the lovely mint color and I had to buy a pair. Now that it is officially spring, you can get floral tops, skirts, Ts all over the place. I bought a nice black top to complement the mint colored pants. Paired with two toned heels and a cross body bag, I was ready to go.

Initially, I wanted to do a multiple outfit post by using the flowered top in two ways. But doing one shoot was tiring enough that I decided to save that look for another day. Don't forget to check my lucky owl necklace - again in mint :). Now if you are all about the flower power like me, you can go crazy with the floral accessories. Please note the flower bracelet and flower cutouts on my bag. If it is too much for you, then skip the flowers and go for simpler accessories.
